Personalized In-Home Care

Serving seniors has been a passion of mine since helping to care for my grandparents in the 1990s. I resonated with the personal nature of caring for a loved one while trusting others to help when our family couldn’t be there. In 2004, I was blessed with the opportunity to help others by being awarded the Home Instead Senior Care franchise in Rochester, New York. Our mission is to help seniors stay in their homes to age gracefully and with dignity while maintaining a safe and loving environment.
Owning the Home Instead Senior Care franchise has been the perfect next step after a career in corporate America. After graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology, I became a CPA working at Price Waterhouse as a staff auditor and tax accountant. In 1985, I commenced a 30-year career at Xerox Corporation serving in several financial, operational and sales management roles. In 2009 I completed the certification program to become a Certified Senior Advisor.
In 2016, we obtained our LHCSA license and began Professional Assistance for Seniors, enabling us to serve the community with hands-on, nurse directed care. By doing so, we can provide a full spectrum of services from Companion to Personal Care, Advocacy and End of Life support. Through this continuum of care, we can assist clients and families in their transition of care needs.

Donna Schmidt brings over 34 years of diverse corporate experience to her role as Human Resource Manager at Home Instead, having transitioned from a distinguished career at Xerox Corporation. Joining in November 2018, Donna’s background spans operational and strategic roles, honed during her tenure at Xerox. She holds an MBA from the University of Rochester, Simon School of Business.
Beyond her professional achievements, Donna is deeply committed to serving seniors, a passion reflected in her role as a bassoon player with the Kodak Concert Band, performing regularly at Senior Living facilities across Monroe County. She also contributes her musical talents to the Webster Village Band.
Outside of her musical pursuits, Donna cherishes time spent with her husband, her two grown sons, and their families. Her dedication to both her professional responsibilities and her community involvement underscores her commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Kim Ryan joined Home Instead Senior Care in August of 2017 as an executive assistant. She joined the team bringing 38+ years of manufacturing experience. Her prior role as a customer service manager serves as valuable experience in speaking with caregivers and clients.
Kim’s family includes her husband of 43 years, two children, their spouses and two grandchildren. She enjoys baking, gardening, their swimming pool, and spending time with family.

​Kathy Graham comes from an extensive background in business management and joined the team at Home Instead Senior Care in July of 2018. She is proud to serve in the Operations Manager position and thrives on finding creative ways to help both our clients and our care givers.
When not working with our medical team, Kathy spends her time with her daughter and loves watching her grow and experience the world.
